Where is everything?!

Sora?!

Namine?!

It's important.

Yeah? I can understand that. Just be careful -- you wait to long, you'll end up with them just giving you a name. I didn't want to be Superboy, you see.

It's kinda complicated. Basically I was created to be the next Superman, you know? 'Boy' just seemed so insulting. I was young, yes, inexperienced, sure, but I had the skills. Then in your sudden unexpected plot twist, the guy's not actually dead and ends up saving the day per usual. Way to make a clone redundant.

But ... I dunno. I was expecting him to cut me down, you know? He was so ... no one could ever replace him. Not me, that's for sure. Forget being Superman, I figured he was gonna be furious enough over the Superboy thing. But ... he said I'd earned it. The title. And if I wanted to use it, I could. Not saying his seal of approval made all the difference ... but it was something that was mine.

Hell, no. He's dead against cloning. Me -- he doesn't mind me so much. He even adopted me as a cousin and gave me a real name. But -- he's a busy guy, you know?

...

Like I said, he's a busy guy. Fate of the world on his shoulders, all of that.

It's complicated. I got no idea why he'd even care.

I guess so. You don't get more heroic than him, that's for sure.

The Greek dude? No way. I'm pretty certain the big guy's taken a down a god or two in his time.

He's old news in our world. We got Wonder Woman -- and dude. Let's just say that if they pulled that golden apple stunt today, there would be no contest. Talk about your Elysian fields.

Hot and powerful. Also an Amazonian princess.

Doesn't mean I'm blind. But Wonderwoman's like Supes -- A list for a reason.

God, no. Wash your mind out dude, augh.

They're -- man, it's hard to explain. Living legends. Somehow larger than life. You'll mock, sure, but when you actually meet them -- it's something else.

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_superdork_/ 2006-12-20 07:37 am (UTC)(link)
That ... might make things easier, in a way. But they're not, and never have been 'just people.'
